The Supreme Court Of India has refused to put a ban on the release of Padmavati. The movie has been receiving strong opposition from various groups as it is believed that it showcases romance between Hindu Queen and a Muslim ruler.
The court has clarified that no one can pre judge about the movie before it has been certified by the Censor Board. The movie was earlier scheduled to be released on December 1, but was postponed indefinitely after the Censor Board refused to certify the movie.
The Censor Board has earlier stated that the Censor application for the movie was incomplete, so they cannot certify the movie. The bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra.

The movie stars Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh and is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
