Kapil Sharma: It’s just an unfortunate incident, there is no rivalry behind the accident
Stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma’s show, Comedy Nights with Kapil was recently in the news when the sets of his comedy show caught fire.
All the fans of Kapil and even people from the industry have been suspecting about some rivalry behind this sudden mishap. However, Kapil Sharma has rubbished rumours of any conspiracy behind the fire.
“All these are just rumors and there is no truth to it. It’s just an unfortunate incident and we know that it has happened because of short circuit. There is no rivalry behind the accident, everyone loves my show and that’s the reason that the show has got highest ratings. I think nobody can go to such an extent to harm anyone. We being part of the industry very well know that a lot of hard work goes into making a hit show. Every artist and every producer works hard to make their show popular,” said Kapil who is also the producer of Comedy Nights with Kapil.
When asked, if he is unhappy with the change in the time slot being made to adjust Anil Kapoor’s upcoming fiction series ’24’, the actor said, “Mujhe pata nahi ye saari news kahan se aajati hain. In fact, I am happy that we will be getting some time to relax. Now, that the show will go on-air once a week, there will be less pressure. Constant hard work is required to keep the show going, it has happened so many times that our script was not ready but we went ahead to perform the acts. So now I am happy that we will have time to relax.”
The comic actor also went on to explain his side on the recent tax controversy, “I am very upset with reports everywhere saying that I am a tax evader. In fact I recently got to know that the Service Tax department imposed tax on the artistes in July last year, and I have already paid Rs 35 lakh towards the tax. There were also reports that I have to pay some 60 lakh which is not true; I have to pay the remaining Rs 30 lakh which is due in October. I will pay the remaining amount soon,” concludes Kapil.
