Defense Wants To Clarify Kamal Khan’s Statement In Salman Khan Hit And Run Case
Life has been a roller coaster for Salman Khan. On one side he is giving back to back hits and minting money, but on the other side the legal cases against him haunt him big time. We all know that Salman Khan is out on a bail after been convicted in the hit and run case for a jail term of 5 years. The defense now wants to clarify the statement of Kamal Khan once again as they claim that his statement was not used in the original case.
Kamal Khan is believed to be one of the passengers of the SUV on the fateful night. The defense wants Kamal Khan’s statement to verify if Salman Khan was driving the car and was he drunk.
Counsel Amit Desai argued: “In the trial court collaboration of evidence is mostly on the basis of the statement of another eyewitness, deceased police constable Ravindra Patil. Why did the prosecution not seek an explanation from Kamal Khan when he was accompanying the actor throughout before and after the incident.”
“Considering the peculiar facts and circumstances of the present case and in the interest of justice it is imperative and necessary that the only remaining eyewitness, Kamal Khan, ought to be called. Prosecution failed to discharge its duties before the trial court to produce the only surviving witness who could unfold the entire narrative of the present case and has failed to suggest that examination is imperative for administration of fair trial” as per the application.
By what is going on, it seems that Salman Khan will continue to have sleepless nights until all the charges against him are dropped for good.
