Curtains Down For Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge at Maratha Mandir
After running for more than 1000 successive weeks, the Maratha Mandir theater management along with YRF has finally decided to pull the curtains down for Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ). The theater was playing a special show every morning at 9.15 AM and would continue to play newly released movie shows for the rest of the day. This show was earlier running on the 11.30 PM slot. But the management faced logistics issue to accommodate staff for the unusual hour in the morning show. The the morning show was also eating up a valuable slot from the new releases.
The management played the movie for the last time during the 9.15 AM show today and hoped that people see the cult classes in 70 mm screen for one last time. The movie already holds the record of longest running movie of all time and has finished 1009 weeks in the theater. The film stars Shahrukh Khan and Kajol among others. YRF had recently re-released DDLJ to celebrate the 1000 weeks.
