Kambaqth Ishq Review




Kambakkth Ishq is finally out after a long delay. But I guess it could have better stayed that way. The first half of the movie is full of fun, but the latter half was nothing but a piece of crap. Well, nothing seems to be going well for Akshay Kumar this year. First CC2C, then 8 x 10 Tasveer and now this, none of them doing well in the box office.

The likes of Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Routh and Denise Richards are just wasted in the movie. Stallone and Denise got some small roles, but Brandon was simply used to make his presence felt.

Viraj Shergill (AK) is a successful Hollywood stuntman who hates women. His brother Lucky (Aftab Shivdesani) is in love with Kamini (Amrita Arora), who is a friend of Simria (Kareena Kapoor) who is a med student doing modeling to pay her education fees. She feels that all men a dogs.

The marriage between Kamini and Lucky sparks the ego war between Viraj and Simrita, only for them to realize in the later stage that they are in love with each other. But the screenplay is too much complicated, for instance, the comedy track of Javed Jaffery is not at all linking to the mainstream script of the movie.

The first half if full of comedy but surely there will be some eyebrows raised because the dialogues are not decent. Well come on guys, this was supposed to be a family entertainer. But the dialogues are well below the standards and so as the comedy. The second half is a complete emotional drama or shall I say it emotional hatyachar.

Overall, Kambakkth Ishq is not capable of making you to Feel the Love, as said in the trailers. A true disappointment for a cinema hungry audience.


Plus: Good location, capable story

Minus: Not at all fit to watch with a family, good story taken in a bad way

Kambaqth Ishq Preview and Trailer

Kambaqth Ishq is the latest venture from the Nadiawala Production house. The movie stars Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Sylester Stallone, Amrita Arora, Aftab Shivdasani and other loads of hollywood stars. Sylester Stallone will be making is bollywood debut with this movie.

This movie can prove to be a lifeline for Akshay. He is desparate to give a hit after both his last movies, CC2C and 8 X 10 Tasveer bombed at the box office. The movie is said to me a remake of a South Indian blockbuster Pammal K. Sambantham starring Kamal Hassan and Simran in the lead role. But the script has been changed a little to entertain the wider range of audience this time as the tamil version was too regional to be remade in hindi.

The movie is set to release in the later half of May 2009 but its speculated that the release may be postponed because of the ongoing issues between the distributors and the multiplexer owners. Akshay will be having his fingers crossed!!!!!.

Aa Dekhen Zara Movie Review


Last night after watching Aa Dheken Zara, I realized that this is going to be a long year of supernatural and hitech thrillers. Soon after we were thrilled by the intelligent use of mobile phones and TVs in 13B, its now the chance for cameras to show their new dimension.

The life of Ray Acharya (Neil Nithin Mukesh) is in jeopardy until he gets a camrea from his grandfather. The camera has the power to take pictures of the future. Meantime Ray and Simi Chatarjee (Bipasha Basu) fell in love with each other, the latter not knowing the source of his success.

It does not take long for the bad elements in the society trying to get their hands on the camera and Ray is fighting to save it. The story gets more thriller when Ray's own photo is blacked out on a future day indicating that he will die in next 6 days. Eventually Simi comes to know about the things and both of them decide to use the camera to save Ray from the bad guys.

The movie is extremely fast in pace and there is not even a single dull movement and you are always left guessing. The songs are also good and are well placed at the right time so as not to slow down the movie. But in some places the absense of few more big stars was clearly felt as the full story is taken on the support of Bipasha Basu, Neil being just a new kid on the block. And I felt that the thrills could have been more thriller in few places.

The rest of the movie shows if what the camera showed will come true or not. To know what happens next, go and watch the movie and I bet that you will be entertained. The film ends with a hint of the next part (if this one is a box office success) where Ray gets a time shiftting clock which can take him to different places (Jumper Style).

So after 13 B and Aa Dheken Zara, I guess that two more movies of the same kind of ready for release, Kal Kisne Dhekan, where the hero can see future and 8*10 Tasveer starring Akshay Kumar, where he can see the past. Quite interesting, isnt't?

Plus: Interesting storyline and good action.

Minus: Some scenes could have been more interesting

Golmaal Returns Reivew





Golmaal is back and it rocks. Golmaal Returns is out and out comedy, no doubt in it. After watching the show last night, I felt that even though its not as good as its predecessor, its still worth watching for total enjoyment.

Golmaal Returns has a exceptionally big casting with some stars are coming on the screen for very little time. But Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Ajay Devgan and Arshad Warsi have done a great job of keeping the movie on track.

The movie had glimpses of many movies of the recent times, and the crew has not missed any changes to make fun of those movies. But I am sure that you will enjoy it. For instance, the movie has scenes from Sawariya, Om Shanti Om and a few more. Arshad and Ajay had even made fun of the Saif - Kareena affair and all the daily soaps by Ekta Kapoor. The point to be noted here is that, in the recent past, more and more hindi movies have a few characters in tamil. Celina Jaitley comes as a tamil girl in the movie. And even the Tha Kar ke song was a complete makeover of a song from tamil movie Shivaji.

In short, its an out and out comedy entertainer and can be watched once if you want to laugh without straining your brain. The film has no logic in some places, but its Golmaal and its supposed to be that way. But a piece of advice. Kids, stay away from this movie. Because the comedy and dialogues are shear adult matter. :)
