District 9 Movie Review


District 9 is one of the best made films of 2009 yet. A very clever concept well supported by brilliant graphics and action. The film begins with a very interesting scene. A large number of aliens have crash landed in Johannesburg and are living here for almost 20 years now. The clashes between the humans and aliens are raising rapidly.

MNU (Multi National United) has a mammoth task of relocating these aliens to a newly constructed facility far from the city. The team headed by Wikus Van De Merwe (Sharlto Copley) starts off the operation. The aliens had been working on a plan to go back home and had just figured out a way, when everything seems to go wrong.

Their fuel capsule is taken away by MNU and Wikus Van De Merwe becomes a target of a alien kick. Wikus Van De Merwe gets infected and starts to slowly transform into an alien himself. Its upto him now to figure out a way out of this mess and to stop all the speculations about him.

The climax of the film is very good and shows whether he gets back in human form and whether the aliens are able to fly back home or not.

Overall, District 9 is a first film of its kind. A must watch for all of us.

Plus: Good Action, Excellent Graphics
