Nokia 5800 XpressMusic - Nokia TubeThe all new Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic phone, also known as Nokia Tube is truly an iPhone killer. I have been using Nokia 5800 for over a week now and the experience was really awesome. This is the second touch mobile from Nokia after a flopped Nokia 7700. But Nokia has certainly worked out on all the details this time to deliver a class product.

Nokia 5800 is certainly inspired by the iPhone hype and has taken a great care to make the phone which is more improved than the current iPhone version. Nokia 5800 has some features which are currently unavailable in the iPhone. For instance, Nokia 5800 has MMS capability, A-GPS, Handwriting Recognition and also a more flexible call register which are still missing in iPhone 3G.

And one of the best feature of Nokia 5800 is the offline Assisted-GPS (A-GPS) with a built in GPS receiver. This means that you don't need to subscribe for any data package connection. Just download the maps and that's it. The GPS receiver will automatically show your location using the set of 32 satellites and you can access the path to any place from your current location. Apparently, the iPhone 3G requires an internet connection (WiFi) for the GPS to work.

Other features of Nokia 5800 are:

1. 8 GB of on-board memory card, expandable upto 16 GB
2. An excellent music player with two stereo speakers
3. WiFi (802.b/g)
4. Supports third party Symbian and Java applications

As this is the first generation nokia touch phone it has some minor bugs, which I believe would be fixed through the updates.

1. The system stalls sometimes when you work on too many applications and restarts by itself
2. The scrolling of the screen is not as smooth as it can be

But as i said, these are minor bugs and will be fixed soon.

So the market is quite open now for all the customers. This is going to be a good battle between Nokia and iPhone in the touch phone world. And keeping the price factor and the network dependency in mind, Nokia is certainly ahead at this time. And the people who had opted not to buy iPhone earlier have a better alternative now.

Chandni Chowk to China Review

Kung Fu Panda Rediscovered

Yesterday I got a chance to see Chandni Chowk To China, and until now I m cursing myself for watching it. To keep it simple, Chandni Chowk To China is a good example of "How to make a worst movie from a good script". Yes, the script is very promising and it could have been taken in a marvelous way. But eventually everything went wrong in the movie, the presence of the Chinese stars went waste. This movie has a strong resemblance with the animated movie "Kung Fu Panda".

Well there is nothing new to say about Akshay Kumar in this movie. Now this kind of acting is becoming a routine for him. He should understand that the public is now looking for variety. The scenes which the crew was thinking that were too funny, were actually too boring. The movie was just a calculated combination of some well known Hindi movie formulas. But there was a terrible mistake in the calculation.

Now lets come to Deepikia Padukone. Well, she was OK, especially in her actions scenes. Other than that she was just used to drag the scenes and to remind us of the old "Seeta Aur Geetha" formula. The caliber of Mithun and Ranvir was just wasted and neither of them had any large impact on the movie. None of the Chinese crew were used properly. Even though Gordon Liu was able to make a sadistic impact on us. But Roger Yaun was rather funny in his role with his hindi accent.

Well there is nothing much to say about the movie. But I must mention the best part of the movie. It was the trailing credits song. This is not the first time when Akshay Kumar is on the trailing credit vocals. But it was really the best part of the movie because it was when I realized that the torture was actually over. Even the songs were not well choreographed. Tere Naina song is off course an exception to that. It showed great creativity.

This is the second movie in a row for Warner Bros that has gone all wrong, the first one being Saans Bahu Aur Sensex. They must well be careful from now on when investing in Bollywood. By this time they would have learnt that just big banners and names will not satisfy the Indian Audience.

Plus: Hmmmm.... Ah.. Hmmm cant think of any, may be the songs without video....

Minus: Well... I am planning to write a book on that :)

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi Review

Last night I got a change to see the premiere show of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (RNBDJ). The film was quite good, but in no way comparable to DDLJ. Shahrukh and Anuskha have played their parts in the most excellent manner.

The film starts in the most unpredictable way when Suri (Shahrukh Khan AKA SRK) brings his newly wed wife Tanni (Anushka Sharma) to his home. This gives a clear indication that the film has a flashback to be narrated. But again as not expected, the flashback is very small but little bit unbelievable too , because the events in the flashback are supposed to be happened on a single day.

Suri is a normal man with 9 to 5 life, but his wife Tanni is a fun loving character. Tanni asks Suri's permission to join a Dance Jodi Competition. It is now when Suri arrives in a Macho Man Avatar - Raj ( as all other YRF movies) and joins the competition as Tanni's pair. Then starts the hide and seek between Suri and Raj until Tanni admits to Raj that she loves him. Then the remaining story goes as Rab wants it to be. Come on..... don't except the entire story in the review. Go on the watch the movie. Of course the film has happy ending. Tanni and Suri win the Dance Jodi Competition and also each others hearts. But how? For that you need to watch the movie.

The film has many light moments and SRK has shown great maturity in showing the difference between Raj and Suri. But I am unable to digest one thing. How was Tanni unable to recognize that Raj and Suri are same. Come on yaar, give us a break... A man cannot change only by shaving and putting gel in his hair. Even the show host was able to make up that both Raj and Suri are same.

The songs in the movie are very good. Anushka has shown a great maturity in her acting. The screenplay was excellent and even the director has made the audience to sit and watch the trailing scroll by adding the couple's photos. That was a brilliant idea. Overall the film is very good even though it may not break all the records.

Plus: Good Humor, Excellent Music, Good Editing and screenplay, Sweetly narrated story, Excellent acting

Minus: Could have shown more difference in SRK's character.
